The Story Behind Hasti Films

Hasti Films is a project I created to help inspire and showcase ancient healing modalities from around the world, and the stories of the people who have tried these natural healing modalities.

My journey into medicine began after 4 years of undergraduate study in nutrition science, followed by a year of intensive training at a Harvard-affiliated Medical School, which led to working in the Surgical and Burn Intensive Care Units at a top 50 US hospital, which came with a lot of responsibility and respect at the age of just 22.

That path took me to California, where I specialized in parenteral nutrition, which is vein feeding for individuals with severe gastrointestinal issues, and is one of the most dangerous medications due to the complexity of the calculations. But I like math, and I really loved doing this work.

Ultimately, I wanted to get more up-stream to disease, so I completed continuing education in Integrative and Functional Nutrition while working at a concierge medical practice with two highly respected MDs.

Eventually, I moved back to Minneapolis and founded Oswald Digestive Clinic. We offer telemedicine for gut health, and our Google testimonials still make my eyes water.

The success I experienced with clients through root-cause, holistic, and functional approaches, really opened my eyes to the wide range of ancient and holistic healing modalities available in our world, and I felt increasingly called to share these practices with others.

One thing led to another, and we created our first film, "What Is Colombian Ayahuasca?" with a third generation Taita (authentic word for shaman, or healer, in Colombia), completely filmed on a GoPro and iPhone 16!

And so, I continue on this journey, now with a nicer camera, and am continuing to follow the breadcrumbs, and share the wisdom that wants to be shared through film.

I hope these films can be used as resources for other medical professionals, and as a source of more information to anyone who is feeling called to try a particular modality.

This is our mission. Thank you so much for your support.
